February 6 - February 10

This week in math we are going to be continuing to work on fractions. We took a little quiz on Friday to see how the students were understanding fractions and most of them have got it down, but we're going to do a little review on Monday to make sure they understand. In reading this week, we are going to be working on making predictions while reading, plural words, and contractions. Thanks for all you do, I have the best class! If you ever have any questions or concerns, please email or call me! carly.olsen@besd.net

January 30 - Febuary 3rd

Here is this week's homework-- sorry I didn't post last week's! I was on vacation and made the homework for my substitute but forgot to put it on the blog before I left. This week in reading we will be working on author's purpose, homophones, and irregular verbs. In math we are going to start fractions. We took our division chapter test on Friday. The students still need a little extra practice with division and multiplication, so we are going to be sending home multiplication flashcards at parent-teacher conferences this week. Parent-teacher conferences are on Wednesday and Thursday. The office scheduled the appointments this time and I sent a note home with each student saying when your appointment is. If you didn't see the note, please let me know so that I can send you another or just an email to let you know when your appointment is. Thank you for all you do!

January 9 - 13

This week we are going to be taking our chapter test on multiplication, our unit test in reading, starting division in math, and talking about compare and contrast in reading. It will be a busy week! The students are doing a good job with the multiplication, but the next step is to memorize the facts. We will be making some multiplication wheels to practice during school, but if you could print off or make some multiplication flash cards at home to practice, that would be great. There are a lot of websites that have flashcards you can print off and cut out. Thanks for all you do! Let me know if you have any questions or concerns!!
